  • "Allow me to introduce myself. I'm the new nüvi. Sure I'm pencil-thin, but don't allow my good looks deceive you. I'm a powerful piece of technology."

    Smart and good looking

This is the new nüvi. Sleek, stylish, yet loaded with new and enhanced Garmin navigation features. For instance, this nüvi comes preloaded with mapping of Australia and New Zealand. It also is the first nüvi series to include nüRoute™ technology with trafficTrends™** and myTrends™ which allows this nüvi to become your uniquely personal navigation device.

    ** Australia only

    A sensitive face

It has a newly designed glass capacitive touchscreen that is bright, clear and more sensitive. It provides multi-touch capabilities that go beyond just pinch-to-zoom. And it morphs fluidly between horizontal and vertical modes.

NOTE : City modeling, 3D terrain, Voice Command, traffic are all premium features available on the nüvi 3790T. nüvi 3790T available in Australia only.

    * The slimmest Portable Navigation Device in the market as at May 2010

"For years, people have talked to their nüvis. They gave us pet names and tried to include us in conversations. But we just politely went about giving directions. Not being rude, you see, it's because we couldn't really hear them. Until now! I actually can hear what you're saying! And I'll even respond to my name if you give me one."

    Voice Command

Voice command allows you to use your nüvi by speaking the words you see on the screen or by speaking certain commands. The wakeup phrase, or name, is a word or phrase you can say to activate Voice Command. When you speak the wakeup phrase or name you have assigned your nüvi, the Voice Command menu appears. Then speak any selection on the screen, such as "Where To?", or "Volume". There are also Shortcut Commands you can use from any screen.

NOTE: Voice Command feature is available on the nüvi 3790T. Australia model only

"You can give me a special voice. Record someone from your family, a friend, loved-one, anyone. Then when I give you directions it will be that voice you hear giving turn-by-turn directions!"

    Voice Studio

To record a special voice and download it to your nüvi, go to Garmin Voice Studio at garmin.com. There, you will receive complete directions on how to record and download the voice you want to hear on your nüvi.

"Just look at my face. Have you ever seen a brighter, friendlier face? And I kind of like having my buttons pushed. I'm so easy to read. I should never play poker."

    Easy to use

Touch "Where To" to find a destination. Touch "View Map" to see map and current location. The red "X" icon stops a route. The yellow "arrow sign" icon finds a detour. To make a call when connected to a compatible mobile phone, touch the blue "Phone" icon. The "speaker" icon adjusts the volume. And the "tool box" icon opens the menu of tools and settings.

"My vehicle mount has a speaker built into it. When I'm up there on your window or dash, it's like I'm on stage ready to perform. Here's a shout out to the backseat! Okay, sure, you can control my volume."

    Enhanced Speaker/Sound

A built-in speaker is included in the back of nüvi that allows you to hear directions while walking. But since it gets noisy in your car, there's a larger, amplified speaker built into the vehicle mount that makes it much easier to hear nüvi give directions while driving.

"Some say I'm psychic. I just compare notes with other nüvis through trafficTrends. Things like when certain routes move along nicely and when they turn into parking lots. So, don't be surprised when I let you know that the current way you're going may not be the quickest. I may even suggest an alternative."

    nüRoute™ technology with trafficTrends™

With trafficTrends*, your nüvi automatically learns daytime trends for traffic flow to improve your routes and better predict your estimated time of arrival based on time of day and day of week. Get free trafficTrends™ updates every time you connect your device to myGarmin

    * trafficTrends available in Australia only

"Okay, I don't like zipping across four lanes of traffic to catch a turn or exit any more than you do. That's why, right up in my upper left hand corner, I show you which lane to be in for upcoming turns. No surprises, right?"

    Lane Assist

Lane assist provides arrows indicating the proper exit lane for complicated highway interchanges so that they are easier to navigate. You'll know which lane to be in well ahead of your exit so you have time to get over to it.

"Have you noticed that the world is far from flat? With 3D Terrain I show you the contours of the land right on my screen. And in some big cities, I show landmarks and prominent buildings."

    3D Terrain and City Modelling

The nüvi 3790T provides 3D terrain and City Modelling that show changes in elevation and prominent landmarks and buildings. It not only makes the drive more interesting, it helps give you a better feel for your location in relation to your destination.

"Not to brag, but you're looking at an award winning design. Still, I can't think of a nicer place to show off my trim new looks than in your hand and displayed on your dash. Sure, looks aren't everything, but admit it; we'll look good together. Hmmm?"

    Garmin Industrial Design

At less than 9mm thin, nüvi 3700 series is easily the slimmest PND on the market – an irresistible design that begs to be turned on and shown off. The sleek new look has been making waves around the world, already scoring a Red Dot Design Awards in a field of more than 4,000 submissions globally. Already, nüvi 3700 series has proven it is a cut above the rest.
